A Tribute

Ok so i am sitting at my mom and dads tonight pondering my day tomorrow.....It is my Aunt Mona's funeral tomorrow and her family asked me to sing and of course i said yes....now i am thinking i shouldn't have accepted...All of these memories are rushing me at once since i am in the house i grew up with and w/my aunt mona's house being just a quarter of a mile away....so i am goint to jot down some of these memories hoping to get them out of my system before tomorrow.

Aunt Mona was my closest neighbor growing up, she was so kind, i remember Kerry and I riding our bikes to her house and she would always have some kind of treat to give us, whether it was browies, or cookies and they were delicious...i wish i would have gotten those recipes...

Every year on my dads birthday she would bring him over a german chocolate cake with coconut frosting, gross, and on the cake she would leave one row bare for me because i didn't like frosting...

The first time she saw Izzy she gave me a huge hug and thanked me for making my dad a grandpa, apparently she was really worried that he would never have grandkids..

She would always ask me to sing her a song everytime she saw me, she didn't care what song it was she just wanted me to sing and her family knew that so they asked me to sing tomorrow at her funeral.

I asked Kerry to sing with me but he planned a trip to San Diego for his break from school and decided to go on that rather than support his family at this time. I am kinda of ticked about the situation if you couldn't tell...anyway i asked a dear friend Alene to sing with me, We are singing a song by Roy Rogers called "I hope there'll be pine trees in heaven." It is a beautiful song and we are doing some really nice harmony, i know Aunt mona will be enjoying it w/ her husband tomorrow :)

I loved her so much and am so grateful she is with her husband again in heaven with our heavenly father...
