State Basketball 2010

This last weekend Adam and I were able to attend his brother Logan's state basketball tournament in Boise. My mom and dad took Izzy on Wednesday night and Adam and i left early Thursday morning. We drove to Boise and made it just in time for Firth's first tournament game. They played against Melba who was considered number 2 in the state of Idaho. Firth played really well, but the refs were terrible, but Firth played through that and came out on top 45-41. After the game we checked into our hotel and changed our clothes and went out to eat at Famous Daves, it was delicous.

That night Adam and I went swimming in the hotel pool, but soon the entire Firth Basketball team showed up and we left, it got a little crowded.

We shared a room with Adam's parents, it wasn't too bad but Adam's dad gets up really early. No liky...

The next day Firth's game wasn't until 6:00 pm so we went to lunch at Big Juds in boise...so good the bacon was perfect. Then Adam's mom Debbie, his sister Darci, a friend Vicki and I went and got pedicures while everyone else went shopping, not my cup of tea so i was clad to get away and get some R&R...We then went directly to the game against Westside. Firth had played them before twice during the regular season and had lost both games so this game was really stressful. Again the refs were rediculous again, my blood pressure was going crazy throughout the whole game and again Firth came through and won again 42-31.....

That night everyone went and ate at Old Chicago in Downtown Boise. Really good food and we had so much fun laughing and having a good time together. We didn't get back to our hotel till around 11 pm. I went right to bed.

The next day was the championship at 1:40 at the Idaho center. Adam and i went all out, painted kitty prints on our faces, i had blue mascera on and of course our Wynn/Firth Cougar shirts on. The Idaho Center was so cool, it was huge and the excitement was surreal. We were pretty close to the court and had a perfect view of everything. The game started of on a good start Firth was up by quite a bit then out of nowhere Kamiah started making all of their free throws. By the 2nd quarter Firth was behind 11 pts. Not good. by the 3rd Quarter Firth started catching up and by the 4th quarter with 1 minute and a few seconds left they tied the game. Then firth stole the ball and was trying to run out the clock and one of the players got fouled with 26 seconds left he made one and missed the other one making the score 46-45. Kamiah got the rebound and got the ball in shot the ball and it missed and Firth got the rebound, it was insane we were all screaming and yelling and the team just went crazy. This was their 4th year in a row taking state. It was amazing being a part of this, i am so glad we went.

After the game we all went behind a curtain and got to take pictures and congratulate the boys. It was crazy back there. People were crying and smiling and screaming and going crazy. Logan was so excited and we all just rushed at him at once giving him one giant group hug. We took a lot of pictures.
